Weekly All-Star Team - Week 6

Cal's take on an All-Star team based on week 6 performances. For the first time, the ODA+ (Offense and Defense Aggregate) is displayed so we can compare apples to oranges.

C - Max Stassi, GLA - 3-13, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 3 BB, 7-8 X-Ch, 146 ODA+
Stassi had a productive week at the plate, but it was his work defensively that secured the starting spot.

1B - Ryan McMahon, PBW - 4-10, 3 HR, 1 3B, 7 RBI, 4 R, 3 BB, 1-2 X-Ch, 132 ODA+
Ryan McMahon feasted on Black Bear pitching this week going deep three times - including one against another lefty.

2B - Jake Cronenworth, DEN - 7-17, 2 HR, 1 2B, 6 RBI, 3 R, 1 BB, 3-4 X-Ch, 161 ODA+
Cronenworth actually tied with Luis Guillorme at 161 ODA+, but the raw point total saw him take the edge by a margin of 0.21%! Yes, one-fifth of a percent lead.

3B - Manny Machado, PBW - 8-16, 1 3B, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 4 R, 2-2 X-Ch, 162 ODA+
Manny collected his twelve total bases the hard way this week without a single dinger.

SS - Didi Gregorius, YKN - 5-13, 1 HR, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 3 R, 7-8 X-Ch, 158 ODA+
A great week with the bat plus a great week with the glove lands Didi with his first Weekly All-Star bid.

LF - Randy Arozarena, DEN - 4-14, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R, 1-1 X-Ch, 128 ODA+
Left field was the weakest position this week with Arozarena squeaking out a one-point win over the Unicorns' Duvall.

CF - Starling Marte, PBW - 5-15, 1 3B, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 4 R, 3 BB, 3-3 X-Ch, 149 ODA+
Though Starling didn't have the pop that second-place Buxton did, his HR-independent run production earned him the nod this week.

*RF - Jesse Winker, QC - 7-17, 3 HR, 2 2B, 8 RBI, 5 R, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 176 ODA+
Winker is the weekly captain with a league-best 176 ODA+. That is especially impressive since he did it all with the bat having 0 X-Chances this week.

DH - Ramon Urias, TK - 7-18, 2 HR, 2 2B, 8 RBI, 3 R, 1 BB, 145 ODA+
Urias has been snubbed on multiple occasions, but he stands atop the designated hitters in week 6 with 15 total bases.

P #1 - Jacob deGrom, PBW - 8.0 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 2 BB, 10 SO, 276 DOM+
Despite having his lowest strikeout total since week one, deGrom was lights out this week and eight innings of the season-first shutout against the Black Bears.

P #2 - Tony Gonsolin, LV - 7.0 IP, 0 R, 1 H, 9 SO, 262 DOM+
In many weeks, Gonsolin would have secured the top spot, but he will comfortably take second with his seven shutout innings.

P #3 - Zac Gallen, VA - 8.0 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 12 SO, 254 DOM+
The Vatican is still looking for their first offensive All-Star, but Gallen brings home another pitching spot with eight strong innings.

P #4 - Lance Lynn, DAL - 7.0 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 12 SO, 247 DOM+
Lance Lynn has been one of the bright spots on the Dallas roster. He led his club to a much-needed win with seven shutout innings.

P #5 - Devin Williams, DEN - 6.0 IP, 2 R, 3 H, 1 BB, 9 SO, 208 DOM+
Williams was a distant fifth with his pedestrian 208 DOM+ as he makes his first All-Star team since week one.
