Monthly All-Star Team - Month 1

Cal's take on an All-Star team based on month 1 performances.

C - Alejandro Kirk - 21-61, 4 HR, 5 2B, 11 RBI, 11 R
Without making a single weekly All-Star team, Alejandro Kirk earns the top spot for the first month with an impressive .344 / .394 / .623 slash line.

Backup C - Will D Smith - 14-62, 7 HR, 2 2B, 14 RBI, 13 R

1B - Jose Abreu, YKN - 29-70, 4 HR, 10 2B, 17 RBI, 14 R
Jose has been a monster for four straight weeks. He is the current batting leader with his .414 AVG and pairs it with a .729 SLG.

Backup 1B - Luke Voit, FF - 22-66, 8 HR, 1 2B, 19 RBI, 12 R

2B - Robinson Cano, WV - 21-60, 6 HR, 2 2B, 15 RBI, 12 R
While his defense has been among the worst of starting second basemen, Cano's bat has more than picked up the slack at a historically weak-hitting position.

Backup 2B - Jeff McNeil, YKN - 19-70, 1 3B, 2 2B, 12 RBI, 8 R

3B - Manny Machado, PBW - 19-65, 5 HR, 5 2B, 16 RBI, 13 R
Manny hasn't gotten off to a blazing start, but the power numbers are certainly there and his defense has been perfect.

Backup 3B - Jose Ramirez, GLA - 12-55, 5 HR, 3 2B, 13 RBI, 12 R

SS - Trea Turner, WV - 21-62, 6 HR, 1 3B, 6 2B, 22 RBI, 18 R
Batting behind Ronald Acuna Jr has been a blessing for Trea leading to him leading the league with his 22 RBIs.

Backup SS - Corey Seager, SPP - 20-61, 4 HR, 3 2B, 16 RBI, 6 R

LF - Eloy Jimenez, WV - 20-65, 9 HR, 2 2B, 19 RBI, 14 R
Eloy stands at the top of the home run leaderboard with the fish man and has been off to a very hot ballpark HR streak.

Backup LF - Ian Happ, JJG - 15-52, 3 HR, 4 2B, 11 RBI, 11 R

CF - Mike Trout, JJG - 16-61, 9 HR, 1 3B, 3 2B, 14 RBI, 17 R
Trout is doing Trout things. He's tied for the league lead in HRs and third in runs scored. His defense has been okay, but look for that to pick up as the season rolls on.

Backup CF - Andrew Stevenson, LV - 18-51, 4 RH, 2 3B, 5 2B, 14 RBI, 9 R

RF - Ronald Acuna Jr, WV - 17-58, 6 HR, 9 2B, 10 RBI, 21 R
Ronald got off to a torrid start and has ridden that momentum to the month 1 team. His defense has been lacking, but he fits the SBa meta of XBH go brr.

Backup RF - Teoscar Hernandez, JJG - 20-64, 5 HR, 1 3B, 5 2B, 14 RBI, 10 R

DH - Eric Hosmer, LMM - 14-49, 5 HR, 9 RBI, 8 R
It hasn't been an absurd start for Hosmer, but he's still racked up an impressive .407 wOBA.

Backup DH - Michael Conforto, BSG - 16-63, 3 HR, 1 2B, 11 RBI, 10 R

P #1 - Jacob deGrom, PBW - 29.0 IP, 10 ER, 30 H, 51 SO
In typical deGrom fashion, he has been the most dominant pitcher in the league, but has only collected one win. He does lead the league in strikeouts so he's got that going for him.

P #2 - Shane Bieber, TK - 29.2 IP, 9 ER, 18 H, 40 SO
Shane has also gotten the deGrom treatment this season. He's got an ERA under 3, a WHIP under 1, and a double-digit K/9, but only one win to his name.

P #3 - Corbin Burnes, MKE - 26.0 IP, 3 ER, 11 H, 38 SO
With a DOM+ just a single point behind Bieber, Corbin Burnes rounds out the top three who were all a step above the rest. Burnes has only allowed 3 earned runs to this point of the season putting him in the top 5 in ERA.

P #4 - John Means, SBB - 26.1 IP, 6 ER, 11 H, 21 SO
Means has been consistently at the top of the weekly pitching performances with a mind-boggling 0.65 WHIP. The only thing holding him back from more hardware is the elevated FIP.

P #5 - Devin Williams, DEN - 24.0 IP, 4 ER, 13 H, 47 SO
The leader of the so-called super bullpen, Devin Williams has been striking batters out twice a week this season earning himself two wins and two holds.

Backup P #1 - Hyun Jin Ryu, JJG - 26.1 IP, 10 ER, 25 H, 31 SO

Backup P #2 - Tanner Houck, FF - 27.0 IP, 9 ER, 20 H, 31 SO

Backup P #3 - Dylan Bundy, DAL - 26.0 IP, 10 ER, 26 H, 39 SO

Backup P #4 - Lucas Giolito, JJG - 24.0 IP, 10 ER, 20 H, 31 SO

Backup P #5 - Tony Gonsolin, LV - 21.0 IP, 5 ER, 13 H, 27 SO
